You'd think that a shop which specialises in carpets and flooring and has sample books conveniently positioned for patrons to browse through, would ensure that the samples contained in the sample books are available for covering actual floors with.

You'd think that such an establishment, after efficiently sending someone to measure the floor the very next working day, would follow up with an actual quotation.

You might even think they'd follow up by phone after a few days to find out why you hadn't responded to the quote, which, in fact, you never received.

You might think that after taking an order for a particular pattern of flooring, they would check whether the order could be filled with that particular pattern.

But no. Only when you've actually deposited half the money into their bank account, do they phone you and apologetically inform you that the flooring you have chosen, from their sample book, in their shop, has been discontinued.
