Six years after moving in, I finally have a kitchen floor without large gaping holes.

I have a problem with partial solutions. Due to our long term plans to renovate the house and add 2 or 3 rooms, we've done very little with the fixed furnishings since we moved in. Hence our kitchen has looked absolutely dreadful for six years. Torn floor, broken wall tiles, worn out counters, etc, etc.

Next to the new floor, the wall tiles now look more broken and the units more trashed. So now I basically have a dreadful kitchen with a new floor.
