Yesterday I took the kids to Madagascar - not the island, the movie. The kids enjoyed it though I found it started out mediocre and lost its way further. Not a candidate to add to our home movie collection. I did, however, see the trailer for the fourth Harry Potter movie, which I didn't know was coming so soon. Peter and I both recently read the new book and thought it was a good one. She certainly has quite a lot to get through in the last book though.

Robyn is dying to read Harry Potter for herself. She's just not quite reading well enough yet. She keeps trying the first page of book 1 and finding it too difficult. All three kids are Harry Potter fans. Daniel doesn't like Dobby though. From time to time, just to reassure himself, he checks with us: "There's no werewolves, Mummy? And no dragons? But there are cows. And horses. I can ride a horse."

In other news, Daniel is completely out of nappies. Despite (due to?) complete lack of parental interest, he decided to give up nappies a few weeks ago. This is nice from a financial point of view; however not so nice in terms of the Ick factor as on several occasions to date I have discovered the entire bathroom resembling a very scary warzone.

I'm wondering whether we should go away this weekend. It's sort of a long weekend as Tuesday is a public holiday and the kids have no school on Monday as well. We've been away rather a lot lately, but there's just a chance that if we go to the berg we might get lucky and have some snow - which the kids are dying to experience.
