I have just returned from the office kitchen with my morning coffee. Just ahead of me, someone was making their own morning beverage. A nice mug of hot ... water.

I find this odd.

Another thing I find odd is g-strings. Why someone would want to have a string wedged up their bottom is beyond me.

This thought came to me, not for the first time, on Sunday morning while I was buying a new swimming costume. This purchase had to be made in record time as the family was waiting for me to finish so that we could get on with our day at uShaka Marine World in Durban.

It was a fantastic day. The place has been very well designed to cater for a wide range of ages. So everyone from Daniel upwards could experience age-relative thrills. And on all but the most hectic slides an adult can ride with a small child. The only mistake we made was buying a combo ticket for both Sea World and Wet 'n Wild. We could easily have stayed at one or the other the whole day. We didn't know how much there was to the place. And I also managed to lose our brand new R80 bottle of factor 5000000 suncream. Sob. I didn't manage to go on the Plunge ride. Next time. The kids loved it so much we should maybe get annual tickets.

Saturday was also a good day as we spent the afternoon and evening with friends celebrating their youngest child's second birthday. Unfortunately they are moving soon to Joburg. We have only known them about a year but we will miss them. Not that it makes as much difference as it used to, friends living in other cities. This stage of life is so busy that even with friends living in the same city one tends to spend the day with them only a few times a year.
