It looks like I will be able to take unpaid leave over the kids summer holidays.
I'm stunned. I honestly never thought I'd get it. Possibly, either they're trying hard to keep me happy, or they're not bothered if I'm here or not. Either way, I'll take it.
I still have to finalise the dates and get the actual signature on the slip of paper. So far all I had done was mention it to our HR person - I asked her what the procedure was to arrange it. She said I had to talk to the business unit manager. I hadn't yet got up the nerve to do so. She must have mentioned it to him though, because he just came over to talk about it.
