So. We have given the go-ahead to the builder. He came around this evening and we discussed, as best we could given the adult-to-shrieky-6pm-child ratio, the project timeframe and other details, such as tricky bathroom layouts, portaloos, and general flow through the house. With his help we are tweaking our plans a bit - making a room a little bigger here, moving a door there, etc.

He's a very enthusiastic and personable guy.

I am both dreading and looking forward to this project. However it goes it is bound to be exciting.

Work on the foundations should begin next week!
