The last few days, in summary.

  1. On Friday afternoon after the builders had knocked off for the week, I wondered what could possibly be uglier than a building site in demolition phase.
  2. On Sunday afternoon, after the addition of rain and 48 hours of Daniel's attentions, I had the answer to the above.
  3. I finally found out what had been stuck in the yellow toilet for three years, rendering it unusable.
  4. I found this out using a hammer. This was fun.
  5. It was the lid of a tiny toy cooking pot, about six centimetres in diameter.
  6. On Saturday we befriended a troop of monkeys in our garden. They appear to be taking up permanent residence now. In hindsight, it was possibly unwise to have fed them.
  7. It was fun, though.
  8. On Saturday I also attended a baby shower for my sister-in-law (my brother's wife).
  9. This was just in time as my first niece was born this afternoon!
  10. She is as yet unnamed since she came three weeks early and took them a bit by surprise!
  11. Monday was my birthday.
  12. The girls were so excited. Sweet to see how much thought and effort they put into my presents.
  13. Presents were fantastic, including cosy new pyjamas from Lauren, picture frames from Robyn, a photo-quality printer from Peter (!!), an exercise mat from Daniel (I think he had a bit of help here), a FreshlyGround album I didn't have from my parents, and a bright and beautiful table-cloth from my in-laws.
  14. Robyn has started her own blog. I've put a link up over on the right.

Belated happy birthday! And I'm sure Soph will want to read Robyn's blog.
