Last week had a rather traumatic end to it. Due to a combination of bad timing, stupidity on my part and the incredibly difficult living conditions at our house, Daniel got a bad scald from the recently boiled, full kettle. He's been having daily burn dressings at the clinic since it happened. Happily it is healing well and apparently will not leave a scar, though it's an angry red colour at the moment. Even though it was an awful experience, I am very aware of how fortunate we were that it was not worse. Somehow the only part of him burnt was one buttock - how his face and front managed to escape I have no idea.
In other news, the Bathroom Tiles are ... out of stock. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth. And the parquet floor that we were going to buy a bit of to patch gaps in our existing floor, is no longer being manufactured.
Unfortunately, once you look at floors with Real Wood Finishes, as opposed to printed imitations, it is very hard not to be captivated by the real thing.
Decisions, decisions.
