Robyn was in incredibly high spirits today. I think it is just beginning to dawn on her that summer freedom is just around the corner. Not even the most trying behaviour of her little brother got her down for more than a few moments. And she is having a long weekend as I decided, to her delight, that school just isn't worth the trouble tomorrow. We are all going to watch Danny in his Christmas concert tomorrow morning. There is no school to go back to even if we wanted her to as it is the Grade 3 Honours Day (can you believe it - how ridiculous) so the rest of the school, the Grade 1's and 2's, have to leave at 1oam.

Lauren, true to form, is determined to return to school as soon as she possibly can lest she miss out on important work. The moment the three-year-old herald angels have uttered their last gory to the newborn king she's going to be champing at the bit to get out of there. Daniel is taking his concert extremely seriously, and has been doing so ever since he came home at the beginning of this term and told me he was going to be Jozip. Next year he will be at a new school (Lauren's current one, though Lauren will have moved on to her new school by then) and it is strange to think that this will be the last Christmas concert we attend at Three Bears. We've been sending our toddlers there since 2000. It has seemed more like a second home than a school, like dropping your child off at a favourite auntie's for the morning.

Busy weekend for the kids as tomorrow evening it is also Lauren's end of year concert (sometime during the day I also need to squeeze in a half day at the office, sigh) and on Sunday we will be watching Robyn in the end of year production put on by her drama group.

On another note, Americans are just plain weird.
