This weekend has been busy with a large number of real life things. Nice. Birthday parties, a kids' talent show at church, and Robyn's drama group's end-of-year play. Afterwards we popped in to friends for cappucinos and to pick up two other breast pumps she has borrowed for me from our bookclub. Now I will have three which should make the logistics of cleaning them between expressing sessions a bit simpler.

So we were adjusting to the fact of the op being scheduled for Thursday. However the neurosurgeon has been consulting with a bunch of colleagues and they think something doesn't quite tie up with my case. Maybe the cyst is just one big fat red herring. Apparently they are often developmental meaning it was there from birth. They do sometimes cause problems after not doing so before but the unusual factor in my case is why it got so severe so rapidly.

The night before this all started I was sitting up in bed feeding Stephen and I fell asleep in a really, really bad position (think Frankenstein having a bad neck day). Next morning I had the initial tingling in the fingertips which rapidly increased over the next few days. I was so sure it had caused the problem and I kept mentioning it to the doctors but they dismissed it out of hand.

Maybe I was right after all.

I have to have a different sort of MRI tomorrow; looking at my neck and spine with dye in the bloodstream.

I wonder what colour the dye will be.

Maybe I will have blue blood.

The doc also mentioned the possibility of lumbar puncture.

Anyway, Thursday's op is still booked but whether it happens or is rescheduled will depend on whether they find anything else.

Hopefully it turns out to be a trapped nerve type thing that can be solved with physio or something similarly non-invasive. How awesome would that be.

Great that the doctor is being thorough. Let us know how things go.

Am really hoping it is just a pinched nerve or some such!! Ems had had MRIs with contrast; she says sometimes the dye feels cold going in but it's not too bad. xox.

That sounds postive, Lisa - praying for a good outcome and thinking of you all. Love, Annalise & Zaverdinos family
