I think my birthday-party planning hobby may be approaching obsession levels.

This morning at 2.30 I was attempting to freeze 6 copies of clue number 14 inside 6 large blocks of ice. This is not as easy as you might think. There was a close shave as I almost attempted to freeze 6 copies of clue number 13 inside 6 large blocks of ice. This would make things tricky, as clue number 13's wording is something like this:

DETOUR

Nice Ice

Find a block of ice near the pool.

You will find your next clue inside it.

So how do you freeze clues inside large blocks of ice?

Well, naturally, first you put each clue in its Amazing Race clue envelope.

Then you put each envelope inside a zip-loc sandwich bag, squeezing out all the air before sealing it.

Then you attach some old metal curtain fork-hooks to each zip-loc bag, for weights.

Then you put each zip-loc-bag-curtain-fork-hook contraption in a container of water.

Then you fiddle around for ages, adding and removing curtain fork-hooks, trying to get the zip-loc-bag-curtain-fork-hook contraption to float at about half depth.

Then you re-arrange your entire, fortunately typically under-stocked, freezer and find a place for each container of water.

Then you camoflage the containers with boxes of frozen fish.

And hey presto! You're done!
