Robyn's school is preparing for a speech and drama festival at the moment. Each class learns a choral verse, and each child learns a poem to recite alone. At the end of the festival each class, and the best individuals, will recite their poetry to the parents as part of a cultural evening. The grade 2's have been given a photocopied sheet of poems and the idea is that they choose one to learn and recite at the festival and possibly at the cultural evening if they are selected.
Remember Robyn's teacher, with the one-size-fits-all approach to teaching, who proclaimed her to be Very Immature early on in the year?
Halfway Down is one of the poems on the sheet. The poet's name appears on the photocopied sheet as just A. A. According to Mrs Twit, this must mean that the writer is unknown. A.A. = Authors Anonymous?
Pity about that pesky habit that photocopiers have of cutting off the edge of the page.
