Today is my last day at the place at which I have been contracting since September. Except for a mind-numbing recent few weeks with Oracle Reports-From-Hell, I have really enjoyed it. The people in the team were very friendly and welcoming, the work was varied and interesting, there was very little bureacracy and general red tape (one might, of course, interpret this as verging towards the chaotic, but it is the sort of place where you can really get things done). The structure is very flat and ability is noticed and rewarded in the way I like best - by being given a large chunk of the technically challenging and unusual pieces of work (the 'hard' bits).
