I am totally exhausted today. I was up until well after midnight clearing up after the writing meeting which was held last night at my place. It was a blast. The rapport continues to grow as the group continues to meet. This time the topic was Religion and there were some good stories. I have undertaken the task, not that I've started yet, of putting together a web site and proper contact list for our group, so we can get properly organised and have a central reference for our writing. Rosanne brought a play she's working on, and we each read a part. It was so much fun that the task for the next meeting is for each of us to write a play - any theme.
The night before last I was up most of the night finishing my piece for the meeting, and then yesterday afternoon we spent with friends at the Durban Botanical Gardens (arrived home an hour and a half before the meeting was due to begin, bit of a rush to bath kids and get snacks ready for the meeting). The kids had fun at the Gardens - lots of riding of 'black bikes' (surely the definitive vehicle of toddlerhood) and scooters. We adults also thoroughly enjoyed it. Robyn was excited to go out to dinner afterwards with her friend. This was the first time she'd ever gone out in the evening without her family, and she was very pumped when she got home. She battled to sleep this morning and I had to drag her from her bed. She was very good about it though. As a result, this morning we were (ahem) doing homework in the car on the way to school. I hope she doesn't do anything awful like fall asleep during class.
